Well, I wear my dual hats proudly – as an electronics and communication engineer and as an MBA graduate with a specialization in marketing. These two paths have shaped me into the professional I am today, and I couldn’t be happier about it. Today, I’d like to share my journey with you, dear readers, and a little something about India’s first female engineer.
Pursuing a degree in electronics and communication engineering was a natural choice. The world of circuits, signals, and the magic of communication systems had me hooked from the beginning. But there was another facet of my personality that yearned for more – the world of marketing.
The decision to pursue an MBA in marketing wasn’t an easy one, but it was certainly one of the best decisions I’ve made. Combining my engineering skills with marketing knowledge opened up a world of possibilities. I found myself uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between technical innovation and its real-world applications.
My college days were filled with liberal exploration and carefree moments. However, it’s essential to remember those who faced greater challenges. Ayyalasomayajula Lalitha, India’s first female engineer, is a prime example. Her journey began with a passionate desire for engineering. In an era when women pursuing this path was a rarity, she stood unwavering. In 1943, she achieved what was then unthinkable – becoming the first Indian woman with an engineering degree.
In closing, my journey as an engineer and marketer has been a delightful blend of logic and creativity, innovation and communication. It’s a testament to the endless possibilities that open up when we embrace diverse fields of knowledge. I’m proud of the path I’ve taken, and I encourage everyone to explore their passions without boundaries.
Let’s continue to celebrate the remarkable achievements of women like Ayyalasomayajula Lalitha who broke barriers and set the stage for all of us to follow our dreams.
