Digital Marketing Manager
Uppteam, Surat
Joining Uppteam was like jumping onto a moving train – exciting, fast, and full of possibility. I came in when the team was just 35 people, and the marketing function was still being built. I started with email marketing and creative content: flyers, brochures, emailers, all things organic. Little did I know this role would evolve into a full-stack marketing career.
When the VP of Marketing and most creatives left, I had the chance to take the lead. I didn’t just “help with marketing,” I became the marketing. I created social media content from scratch, handled internal newsletters, wrote website copy, and strategized outreach campaigns. I reported directly to the CEO and was trusted with both creative direction and business alignment.
By 2021, I was promoted to Digital Marketing Manager & Employer Branding, and this is where things got exciting. I helped shape how the company looked to both clients and potential employees. From CSR days and internal events to launching company newsletters and employee testimonial videos — every campaign was a mix of heart and strategy.
One of my proudest achievements? Building an organic lead generation engine using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and HubSpot CRM. We started converting without ads. Later, we experimented with small-budget paid campaigns across LinkedIn and Meta — which gave me firsthand experience of ad setup, targeting, and monitoring.
As the company scaled to 200+ people, we built a full team of content writers, SEO managers, designers, and video editors. I managed this cross-functional team, coordinated with international agencies, conducted market research, tracked KPIs, led team stand-ups, and shared performance insights with leadership. I also collaborated with the tech and operations teams to ensure that our marketing messaging was aligned with real product updates and customer experiences.
And somewhere between all this, I fell in love with strategy, storytelling, and data – the perfect trio that defines good marketing.
